Biography
I first started Taekwondo when I was 10 years old in February of 2022. I initially began with ATA back then, because before I began training, I tried dance classes, and I didn’t care for them. I told my mother that I wanted to do martial arts, and so she reached out to a friend of hers whose son also did Taekwondo here at ATA. I have benefited from Taekwondo in many ways, not just physically; my emotional stability improved, and I was able to find confidence in myself and my abilities thanks to the patient staff here at ATA. Taekwondo has improved my physical strength, mental strength, and flexibility.
When I first started Taekwondo, I did not see myself as somebody who could be an assistant, let alone an instructor. However, the amazing staff and their ways of teaching, optimism, patience, and perseverance later inspired me to join SWAT and start helping out in classes around 2024. What I love most about teaching is getting to see improvement from students with their performance in class or behavior. It brings a smile to my face to see students enjoying their time in class with various fun activities, and improving themselves mentally and physically.
Outside of martial arts, I really enjoy spending my time drawing or painting, whether it is on paper or on a screen. I also enjoy reading and I like to write every once in a while. I also love listening to music and I bring my headphones with me pretty much everywhere I go; my favorite genres of music are metal, electronic, industrial, or shoegaze and dreampop. My favorite season is fall so I enjoy spending time with my friends, watching Halloween movies, carving pumpkins, and attempting to make fall themed desserts.
